CNN has geolocated and confirmed the authenticity of the video, which began circulating on social media Thursday.
“But it is not clear when the video was taken,” as quoted from the US-based media, Friday (19/8/2022).
The footage shows one of the six turbine chambers located on the west side of the nuclear plant located southeast of the city of Enerhodar. Each turbine room is connected and built into a large building that houses a nuclear reactor.
The vehicle, which looks like a standard Russian military truck, is at the westernmost end of the building on the ground floor, just over 130 meters from the reactor.
“At least five vehicles – with one clearly marked with the pro-war symbol “Z” – are seen in the video, with at least two tent-like structures nearby. There was a wide variety of pallets near the vehicles,” CNN reports.
“It is not clear from the video whether the pallets and tent-like structures are part of the Russian military or related to power plant operations,” the report continued.

Moscow had previously said the only military equipment at the plant was related to guard duty. On Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that satellite imagery showed that weapons, especially heavy ones, were not stationed on the territory of this station.
CNN has contacted the Russian Ministry of Defense for comment on what was in and around the military vehicle in the turbine room, but did not receive an immediate response.
