The various commemorative events were attended by the staff of the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) along with their families and Indonesian people in Ethiopia.
Wednesday, August 17, 2022, the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa held a flag-raising ceremony which was attended by approximately 50 Indonesian Embassy staff and Indonesian people in Addis Ababa. The ceremony was led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Djibouti and the African Union, Al Busyra Basnur.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, August 14, 2022, various competitions and competitions were held which were participated by the Indonesian people, including children and youth.
Very interestingly, several Indonesian babies and children in Addis Ababa also attended and followed the flag ceremony from start to finish. It was seen that the Indonesian children were very happy to take part in the flag ceremony.
On the same day, to commemorate Indonesia’s independence, more than 30 Indonesians who worked at Century Plc, an Indonesian company in the city of Hawassa, 270 km south of the city of Addis Ababa, also held a flag ceremony.
They held the ceremony at the company’s factory building located in the Hawassa Industrial Park.
On Sunday, August 21, 2022, the Indonesian people in the city of Hawassa will hold various competitions and competitions in order to enliven the celebration of Indonesia’s independence anniversary.
Currently there are around 100 Indonesians living in Ethiopia. They work, among others, at the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Indonesian companies, United Nations agencies (UN) and other international organizations.
