But did you know that the LPDP scholarship also has strict rules for its recipients. Call it the obligation to return to the country after completing studies so that it must be done.
Reported by Antara, Dwi Larso, Director of Scholarships for the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) said that scholarship recipients who did not return to Indonesia after completing their studies abroad would be subject to sanctions.
“Awardees (scholar recipients) who do not return to their homeland will of course receive sanctions in the form of refunds and other sanctions according to the signed agreement,” Dwi said in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Friday, August 5, 2022.
Therefore, he asked the LPDP scholarship recipients to return to their country after completing their education abroad.
According to LPDP rules, scholarship recipients who have completed their studies abroad must be in Indonesia no later than 90 calendar days after the graduation date based on official graduation documents from the destination university.
Scholarship recipients who get written permission from the LPDP to continue their doctoral studies are also not free from the obligation to return to Indonesia after their studies.
LPDP emphasized that scholarship recipients who violate these provisions will be subject to sanctions, first in the form of a warning letter.
Scholarship recipients who have not returned within 30 calendar days after the warning is given will be subject to sanctions for revocation of status as an LPDP awardee and must return all funds received.
Dwi said that these provisions are stated in the General Guidelines for Scholarship Recipients and Scholarship Recipients which can be accessed on the LPDP official website.
