The award is given by the OYES Global Foundation, a leading youth organization consisting of youth leaders from African and Asian countries.
The award was officially announced at the Africa Asia Youth Forum (AAYF) organized by the OYES Global Foundation on 28-30 July 2022 at a hotel in Addis Ababa.
The forum was attended by delegates from 40 countries and was opened by the Ethiopian Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Dr Ergoge Tesfaye.
The award was handed over to Ambassador Al Busyra Basnur on Monday 1 August 2022 in a special event at the Indonesian Embassy in Addis Ababa.

The award was delivered directly by the OYES delegation consisting of the Executive Director of the African Union organization, the President of OYES and the board of directors from Ethiopia, Nigeria, Bangladesh and Thailand.
The award was given for the role and services of Ambassador Al Busyra Basnur in advancing global youth, especially youth diplomacy activities in Africa and Asia.

This is the third time that Ambassador Al Busyra Basnur has received this award while serving in Addis Ababa since March 2019.
Previously, on December 13, 2019, the Minister of State for Tourism and Culture of Ethiopia gave an award for the role of Ambassador Al Busyra Basnur in advancing Indonesia-Ethiopia bilateral relations, especially through the role of youth.
Meanwhile on 8 February 2020 the award was also given by Safe Light, a leading youth organization in Ethiopia.
