The discovery of antiques and ancient objects is a part of history that has just emerged again in the modern era. Here are the discoveries of antiques and ancients in the world.
1. The discovery of 500 3,000-year-old ancient objects in China
Chinese archaeologists found 500 ancient objects around 3,000 years old at the Sanxingdui ruin site, southwest China’s Sichuan Province in March 2021.
The Sanxingdui Ruins are one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century in the world. The site of the discovery of these 500 ancient objects is located in Guanghan City, 60 kilometers from the provincial capital of Chengdu.
Of the 500 ancient objects, pieces of a gold mask were found. It is known, this gold mask fragment has a width of 23 centimeters, a height of 28 centimeters, and a weight of about 280 grams.
Based on preliminary examination by archaeologists, the mask contained 84% gold. In addition to the gold mask, the excavation also found traces of silk.
This is the first time that silk dating to more than 3,000 years has been found during excavations.
In 1988, the Sanxingdui Ruins site came under state protection. These ruins are a puzzle for historians and archaeologists because they do not leave written records.
