FIFA released the date for the 2023 U-20 World Cup in Indonesia. According to the official statement, the event will be held on 20 May-11 June 2023 / Photo: Sporting News
“After discussions with PSSI, as well as consultations with all confederations, the Bureau has confirmed that the tournament will be played from 20 May to 11 June 2023,” read a statement on FIFA’s official website, Thursday (23/6/2022).
As is known, bidding Indonesia is the host U-20 World Cup It’s been happening since 2019. Finally, it was determined that this event would be held in 2021.

However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was temporarily canceled. Indonesia was also given the opportunity to host the 2023 edition.
The Garuda squad that will appear in this biggest event is the U-19 Indonesian National Team under the tutelage of Shin Tae-yong. They have made preparations by undergoing training camps.
They will also undergo a tournament that is no less prestigious, namely the AFF U-19 Cup which is also held in Indonesia. A total of 30 players have been called by Shin Tae-yong.

The 2023 U-20 World Cup will feature the 24 best countries in the world. Of that amount, a quota is available for each region.
