Suara.com – The Special Detachment Team (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police arrested 24 people suspected of being supporters of the Poso East Indonesia Mujahideen (MIT) terrorist group and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
“Densus 88 Anti-terror Police have arrested 24 suspected terrorists from the MIT Poso and ISIS groups,” said the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Pol. Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters in Jakarta, Monday (16/5/2022).
Ramadhan said the arrests of the 24 suspects took place on Saturday (14/5) in three provinces, namely Central Sulawesi, Bekasi (West Java), and East Kalimantan.
It was also stated that as many as 22 people were arrested in the Central Sulawesi area, which is the base for MIT Poso.

“A total of 22 (arrested) in Central Sulawesi, one in Bekasi, and one in East Kalimantan,” said Ramadhan.
Ramadhan did not provide further details regarding the identities of the suspects, as well as their involvement in the terrorist group.
Meanwhile, there are two members of the MIT Poso group who are still at large or on the wanted list (DPO), after killing Suhardin alias Hasan Pranata on Wednesday (27/4).
Suhardin was killed in an ambush operation carried out by the Madago Raya Task Force.
Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Rudy Sufahriadi asked the remaining two DPO MIT Poso to surrender immediately.
