Suara.com – Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has told the club he wants to leave and not renew his contract with the German champions. This was revealed by Die Rotten sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
Speaking ahead of Bayern’s final Bundesliga game of the season against VfL Wolfsburg, Salihamidzic confirmed widespread rumors that the Bundesliga’s second all-time leading goalscorer will leave his current club despite his contract only running until 2023.
“I spoke with Lewa. In those discussions he told me that he didn’t want to accept our offer to extend his contract and he wanted to leave the club,” Salihamidzic told Sky Germany, quoted by Reuters on Saturday (14/5/2022).
“He said he wanted to do something else. However, our position has not changed. He still has a contract until June 30, 2023.”
