PBSI has just finished holding the 2022 National Selection (Selection) to recruit potential talents into the Red-White squad. A total of 397 players from all over Indonesia enliven the competition.
As a result, there were 16 players who made it through to Cipayung. They consist of players who won in the men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles who performed in the cadets and adults classes.

Later, the 16 players will be equipped with old names that already exist in Pelatnas. However, it is possible that there are old faces who have been kicked out because of the relegation and promotion system that applies at Pelatnas.
One of them is the Indonesian Mixed Doubles, Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva, which is rumored to be dropped from the Garuda squad in recent times. Therefore, the future of the couple who are familiarly called the Honey Couple will be confirmed tomorrow through an announcement given by PBSI.
On the other hand, the existing men’s singles and men’s doubles players such as Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonatan Christie Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian are predicted to remain safe. The reason is, they appeared quite consistent last year and brought the 2020 Thomas Cup title.
