“Flurona” is when a patient has both the flu and COVID-19 at the same time.
Israel just confirmed its first case of so-called flurona on Thursday (12/30/2021), according to The Times of Israel.

Multiple infections were identified in an unvaccinated pregnant woman whose symptoms were described by Beilinson Hospital doctors as mild.

“He was diagnosed with the flu and the coronavirus as soon as he arrived. Both tests came back positive, even after we checked them again,” Professor Arnon Vizhnitser, director of the hospital’s department of gynecology, told Hamodia.

“The disease is the same disease. They are viral and cause breathing difficulties because they both attack the upper respiratory tract,” he said.
