However, they turned things around and scored three second-half goals from Olivier Giroud, a Franck Kessie penalty and an own goal by Koray Gunter.
Milan coach Stefano Pioli said his team needed maturity and consistency to be able to compete at the top.
Pioli admitted that Verona performed much better than his men in the first half. As a result, he demanded his players to get up in the second half and he saw them motivated to win.

“Verona were stronger in the first half, better in the duel, the intensity, in getting the second ball, so they created a more dangerous situation. Obviously we need to improve the game and I saw confidence in the team at the break,” Pioli said.
“It was a struggle, it was complicated from the start. But the players showed great character.”
Furthermore, the Parma-born coach said that Milan needed mental maturity and consistency. According to him, these two things are needed so that they can achieve their dream of winning the Scudetto this season.
