Persib had started the competition convincingly, winning their first two matches. However, after that the Blue Prince could only draw three times in a row. That includes being held by Persikabo 0-0 in the latest match.
Even though Persib was experiencing a famine of victory, coach Robert Alberts looked at it from a different angle. If some of Bobotoh consider it a bad record, he actually thinks his troops are on the right track.
As a result, Persib’s performance is clearly unsatisfactory. Although still unbeaten, Marc Klok et al lost six points from the last three matches.
However, Robert assessed that in terms of the game, his team showed positive progress from match to match. In the future, he believes Persib’s performance will improve.
“You can see the level of play in the league is now getting better than in the beginning. So, we are still on the right track,” said Robert.
He argued that having not competed for 1.5 years had an effect on the team’s performance. In fact, Persib did not go through the pre-season preparation period as before the 2020 season competition.
This means, indirectly Persib finalizes its game when appearing in the competition. The team needs time to slowly rediscover their best form.
