Basuki, who is a colleague of artist Rizky Billar in Raja Sei’s culinary business, expressed his gratitude for the hard work of the athletes who brought home medals of gold, silver and bronze. According to him, this nick is proof that Indonesia is able to compete in the global arena.
“It’s great to be able to appreciate the @paralympics athletes who have won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Thank you for the gold medals given in badminton, not just one gold but two gold straight away,” he said.
“This is a leap in achievement from Indonesian paralympic athletes who are able to prove they can compete on the world stage,” said Basuki after handing over a prize of Rp. 125 million to the medal-winning athletes, in Jakarta, Thursday (30/9/2021).
According to the businessman from Jember, the Indonesian contingent had great success in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. The Red and White Team managed to win 9 medals, as well as making history throughout their participation in this world sporting event.
“Indonesian athletes who competed in the Tokyo Paralympics won 2 gold, three silver and four bronze medals. This score exceeds the target previously set for the disabled athletes’ sporting event, namely one gold, one silver and three bronzes,” explained Basuki .
“From here we learn that lack is not an excuse to make ourselves better. Rest assured that we all can do it if we can focus and always be enthusiastic in any condition,” said Basuki, who is nicknamed the King of IT.
In another statement on his Instagram account, Basuki expressed his joy to meet the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic athletes. “Happy to be able to meet directly with Indonesian Paralympic Athletes.”
