He said his concerns were a further threat after the Taliban easily took over Afghanistan on August 15, 2021.
When US troops withdrew from Afghanistan last month, the Taliban quickly seized control of Kabul, triggering a chaotic mass evacuation at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport.
The evacuation from Kabul airport involved 165 flights carrying more than 15,000 people in just two weeks.
In an interview with WABC 770, Monday (27/9/2021), Bolton said: “The Taliban who control Afghanistan threaten the possibility of these terrorists taking over Pakistan as well.”
“That means maybe 150 nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorists who are a real threat to us and our friends,” he said.
The concerns arose after reports emerged that the Taliban had recruited Chinese cyber spies to help them spy on Afghan civilians on a mission to prevent an insurgency against their iron fist rule.
