Usyk burst into tears while Joshua rushed out of the ring to seek medical attention in his eyes after being beaten by Usyk in a grueling 12-round fight. Joshua is feared to have an eye socket injury after being beaten by Usyk which has kept him from seeing since round 9.

In particular, Ukrainian PM Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted in appreciation of Usyk’s victory. “Ukraine returns
WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO championship titles – once again, as they should be, belong to Ukraine! “Thank you! Very good, Champion!,” he flattered.
Joshua has a rematch clause in his contract, as he did when he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019. He avenged the loss six months later and confirmed he will try and repeat history by doing his chances for redemption against Usyk.
Asked if he would use the rematch clause, Joshua replied: “One hundred per cent. I’m ready to get back to training. Because of 12 good rounds, so I’ll be in a good place when I get back to training to continue where we left off.” .
Promoter Eddie Hearn said: “Ultimately if he doesn’t accept the rematch clause he won’t get the chance to win back his world championship… maybe the way the game works.

And it’s the same with Ruiz. To be honest, I might actually advise him not to follow Ruiz’s game after such a loss. “I know he was out-box tonight but against Ruiz he was down four or five times and he was stopped pretty badly in that fight.
“Tonight he was out-boxed and starting to get a little hit towards the end – but there are a number of reasons for that. But I don’t see any other option. He doesn’t want to go and do ten rounds at the O2. He’s going to want to try and win the belt back.
