“It seems clear that they should be more active in resolving all the issues related to the deal,” Lavrov told reporters at the United Nations in New York.
Lavrov said he hoped the negotiations in Vienna between Iran, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany would resume as soon as possible.

The senior Russian diplomat noted that the sanctions reimposed on Iran also affected countries that trade legally with Tehran.
“These sanctions must be lifted as part of restoring the nuclear deal. Iran must not suffer the consequences of US unilateral actions,” he said, as reported by Channel News Asia on Sunday (26/9/2021).
Indirect talks between Iran and the US, brokered by other participants of the deal, began in Vienna in April. The talks were meant to bring the US back to the deal and get Iran back into compliance with the rest of the deal.
