“Historically, the anatomy and physiology of the body with the vagina has been neglected,” reads an interesting quote on the cover of its latest issue, with a publication date of September 25. Russia Today, Sunday (26/9/2021).
On Friday night, the quote had garnered less than 300 likes and retweets combined-compared to 4,600 more replies and tweets overall, in a rather surprising ratio.
“Body with vagina? You mean woman? Where does this stop?!?” is the reaction of one of the best women’s tennis player Martina Navratilova.

“Inhuman language has now infected the Lancet,” tweeted Dennis Kavanagh of Lesbian & Gay News.
“How terrible. Just wrote to the Lancet telling them to remove me from their list of statistical reviewers and cancel my subscription and never contact me about anything again,” tweeted Dave Curtis, a retired psychiatrist who does genetic research.
“Absolutely inexcusable language to refer to women and girls.”
“We would like to make a formal complaint about the inhuman and sexist front cover of the latest issue of the Lancet,” said the group Women Make Glasgow.
