“In particular, for several countries that are still implementing the redlist, I ask that the current situation in Indonesia can be considered to change the redlist status. One example, French has removed Indonesia from the redlist,” said Retno in a written statement, Saturday (9/25/2021).
According to Retno, improving conditions in Indonesia cannot be separated from efforts government , both in the form of accelerated vaccination and other regulations related to health protocols.

“The bottom line is two: accelerating vaccination and continuing to follow health protocols,” he said.
Retno also touched on the issue of inequality, discrimination and the politicization of vaccines.
“We agreed to narrow the vaccine gap and stop discrimination and politicization of vaccines,” he said.
The former Indonesian Ambassador to the Netherlands also revealed that the United States (US) will again provide additional vaccines through the Covax Facility of approximately 800 thousand doses. This assurance was obtained after a meeting with the US Under Secretary for Political Affairs, Victoria Nulan.

“So once again, there is a new commitment to add 800,000 doses of vaccine through the Covax Facility and in the near future it will arrive in Indonesia. While previously Indonesia had received from America 12,665,060 doses of vaccine,” he explained.
“Of course I would like to express my gratitude to America for this support,” he concluded.
