Fire The great incident occurred at the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defense on Friday (9/24/2021) early in the morning local time. Footage from the scene shared online showed the fire engulfing the roof of the building as thick smoke billowed from the site.
“By Friday morning, the fire had spread by about 1,000 square meters, reaching the third floor of the dormitory,” the TASS News Agency reported, citing emergency officials cited by Reuters. Russia Today.

“The fire has devoured part of the roof, causing some of it to collapse,” the source said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the incident did not result in any casualties.
About 120 firefighters and about 29 units of equipment were deployed to extinguish the fire. However, efforts to extinguish the fire were hampered by smoke and wooden buildings that caught fire quickly.
The university is located in the heart of Moscow, about 3.3 km from the Kremlin, and is considered a leading educational and scientific center of the Russian Armed Forces.
