Greysia/Apriyani is now a trend setter for athletes in Indonesia to provide proud achievements in the international arena. The history of being the only gold winner for Indonesia at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics from badminton is still remembered.
However, it is undeniable that Greysia/Apriyani went through difficult times while struggling to reach this point. Even they are used to the experience of “win being praised, losing being criticized”.
They shared this when they attended Deddy Corbuzier’s podcast which was uploaded to their Youtube account, Thursday (23/9/2021). At that moment, Greysia/Apri answered with certainty that public abuse is no longer a strange thing.
They were initially asked about what kind of insults they often get when they lose. Greysia, who seemed more dominant in speaking, answered with a smile.
“On my side, maybe ‘wow, you have to retire’ or ‘how does a professional player play like that?’ Or yes, it’s too much because I’ve been playing badminton for a long time,” said Greysia.
“So words like that to the point that it hurts, I don’t hear anymore,” he continued.
Deddy then chimed in that most people who railed like that were not in that field, in this case badminton. Greysia and Apri confirmed that while laughing.
