After carrying out the official test at the Misano Circuit, Tuesday (21/9/2021) and the second test, Wednesday (22/9/2021), Mir was very happy with the performance of his new chassis. He is now looking forward to wearing it for the rest of the 2021 MotoGP race.
The Spaniard assessed that the new engine on the GSX-RR motorcycle for the 2022 MotoGP was more powerful. The development was felt very far from the current condition of the motor.
After the second day of the test session, Mir also said he was very satisfied with the new GSX-RR chassis. He now feels confident his bike can compete in MotoGP 2022.
During the second test session Mir was in third place. Then, the best time was recorded by Aleix Espargaro from the Aprilia team. While the Ducati Lenovo racer, Francesco Bagnaia ranks second.
“I’m happy because we tried the 2022 engine yesterday then today the new chassis, which may also be useful for the last race of the season because the feeling I get is very positive,” said Joan Mir, quoted by Crash.
