In a special meeting that took place on Sunday, Retno directly expressed Indonesia’s appreciation for Turkey’s assistance in the evacuation of Indonesian citizens (WNI) from Kabul.
To know in evacuation WNI From Kabul on 20 August 2021, Turkey has provided assistance, especially regarding access to Kabul Airport.
“So, therefore, I specifically convey Indonesia’s appreciation to Turkey,” said the Foreign Minister in a release received Sindonews, Wednesday (22/9/2021).

In addition, both of them also spoke about the situation in Afghanistan and shared their views, including the importance of respecting the issue of respecting the rights of Afghan women. The two also discussed the importance of the OIC to convey a message to the interim government of Afghanistan.
“In the meeting, we also agreed to hold a full bilateral meeting in Turkey next month to fully discuss bilateral cooperation, including economic cooperation,” said Retno.
Retno was in New York, United States (US) to attend the UN General Assembly. A total of 195 countries are scheduled to participate in the 76th UN General Assembly, 107 of which participate at the Head of State level, both attending and delivering virtual statements.
