When asked about the battle against Covid-19, De La Hoya told TMZ it was: “Five days of hell.”
However, the former world champion is still thinking about his desire to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr for a rematch. De La Hoya even offered Mayweather $100 million. “You know who I call for my next fight – Floyd Mayweather.
“I’m going to offer Floyd Mayweather $100 million – let’s do it”.
The 48-year-old American was released from hospital on September 8 and has the desire to fight again. In a video on social media, he said: “Hey guys I’m out of the hospital. I was there three days, Covid hit me really hard.”
“I’m in the best shape of my life and I really can’t wait to get back in the ring. Thank you so much for all your good wishes and all your support, I appreciate it,” said De La Hoya.

De La Hoya has not fought since being arrested by Manny Pacquiao in December 2008. He became a promoter of Golden Boy Promotions, one of which performed Saul Canelo Alvarez before the partnership broke.
Mayweather, meanwhile, is hanging up his gloves after his fight with Conor McGregor in 2017. But the pound-for-pound great returned to fight in an exhibition fight against Logan Paul on June 5.
