PSSI Optimistic that the Indonesian National Team will qualify from the 2020 AFF Cup Group Phase

JAKARTA – PSSI Secretary General, Yunus Nusi, said he was optimistic Indonesian National team can escape from the preliminary round of Group B AFF Cup 2020 . Although Shin Tae-yong’s squad is with Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos.

“We believe that Indonesia can qualify for the next phase of this Group B elimination,” Yunus said as quoted from the official PSSI website, Tuesday (21/9/2021).

Be in the same group with the finalists AFF Cup , namely Vietnam and Malaysia is certainly not something easy. Moreover, the Indonesian national team has a red report card for dealing with the two national teams.

However, Yunus said he would give full support to Shin Tae-yong. “PSSI will certainly prepare the national team well and fully support coach Shin Tae-yong for the achievement of achievements in the event,” Yunus explained.

For your information, AFF Cup 2020 will take place on December 5, 2021 until January 1, 2022. The tournament between countries in Southeast Asia was supposed to take place last year, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this tournament was postponed.
